Twice a year, DPI’s international community of scientists and industry experts comes together to share results and strengthen collaboration. These meetings not only reflect ongoing progress; they also mark the start of new research initiatives.
During the Autumn Meeting 2025, five new projects were introduced across DPI’s three pre-competitive research programmes. These projects illustrate the breadth and ambition of our community: from AI-enabled monitoring and polymer analytics to recyclability and energy transition.
In the Enabling tools & technologies programme:
- PolyMIND: AI-enabled Polymer Monitoring via Multi-sensor Intelligent Non-destructive Data Fusion
- HITT-Advanced: High-Temperature ThFFF 2.0: Scaling Analytical Power for the Advanced Characterisation of Real-World Complex Polyolefin Architectures
In the Sustainable polymer materials programme:
- BallPLAy: Depolymerisation of Poly(lactic acid) by Ball Mill Grinding
- TRESH-BLEND: Threshold Composition in Polyamide Blends: Guiding Recyclability via Rheo-Structural Analysis
In the Polymers for energy transition programme:
- ITEPOC: Investigation of the ThermoElectrical Behaviour of Polymers and Composites
These new projects were developed within DPI’s pre-competitive framework, where industrial and academic partners co-define the research agenda and contribute to shared scientific outcomes.
We look forward to the results and impact these projects will generate in the coming years, and to continuing the collaborative journey with all involved partners.
