E-MRS Spring Meeting 2026

The E-MRS Spring Meeting brings together over 2,500 researchers, innovators and industry stakeholders from across the materials science community. The 2026 edition offers a compelling programme of 24 symposia, focused on frontier topics including sustainable energy materials, advanced polymer systems, data-driven design, and circularity.

Why this matters for the DPI community

Several symposia align directly with DPI’s core research areas:

  • Symposium Q: Polymer materials – Frontiers in science, engineering, and technology brings together critical and interconnected areas of polymer science and engineering, focusing on innovative materials, advanced processing methods, mechanical performance, and a wide range of high-impact applications.
  • Symposium E: Data-based methods and AI for materials development and processing explores how machine learning, simulation, and high-throughput experimentation are accelerating materials discovery and process optimisation, with growing relevance for polymer R&D.
  • Materials for energy transition and environmental applications: a cluster of symposia addresses next-generation photovoltaics, photoelectrochemical systems, nanogenerators, and energy–environment interfaces. These link directly to DPI’s interests in sustainable materials and energy-relevant functionality.
  • Advanced nanocomposites and hybrid materials: sessions on hybrid functional materials, nanocarbons, and bio-inspired composites present opportunities for DPI researchers working on smart, lightweight, and high-performance polymer systems.

This event offers a broad view of current developments in materials science, with multiple sessions relevant to polymer innovation, circularity, and enabling technologies. It may be of particular interest to researchers and partners following trends in data-driven materials development, sustainable polymers, and advanced applications.
